Sultana Nooran Biography 
Sultana Nooran is an Indian singer best known for rendering Sufi genre of music. She along with her younger sister Jyoti Nooran forms the famous singing duo, Nooran Sisters who came to limelight with the Pataka Kudi song of Highway (2014) composed by A. R. Rahman. It was one of the top chartbuster songs of the year. After this song, the sisters became immensely popular among music lovers and they are also got multiple offers from Bollywood music. Some of their popular songs belong to Sultan, Mirzya, Dangal and Jab Harry met Sejal. They are credited as Nooran Sisters in film music.
Sultana was born in 1992 as the daughter of Gulshan Meer. She hails from a musical family of Jalandhar, Punjab. Phillaur is her hometown. Sultana Nooran is the eldest among two sisters. Noted Sufi singer from Jalandhar Swarn Noora is her paternal grandmother. She is the great granddaughter of Bibi Nooran, a folk singer of Punjab. She practises Islam. The siblings were trained for long 10 years by their father. Following their grandmother’s death, the family faced financial troubles, and their father gave musical lessons to students to provide financial aid of the family.
The talent of the singers was first noticed by Iqbal Mahal, a Canadian music promoter in 2010, who later acted as their mentor. He also arranged music shows for them. Their Song Allah Hoo aired on YouTube became a hit followed by "Tera Rab Ton vee Vadh Ke Deedar" and "Mein Keenu Keenu Dassan", where sisters performed together. They shot to fame with the MTV Talent hunt series in India MTV Sound Trippin with the song "Tung Tung". They got their first break in Bollywood in 2014 with the song, Pataka Kudi. There was no turning back after that.
Some of their popular songs include – Jee Ve Sohaniye from Jab Harry Weds Sejal, Tuk Tuk from Sultan, Rab Da Karam from Kamli, Yaar Di Gali, Tung Tung Baje from Singh is Bling etc. The sisters struggled a lot to reach the phase where they are right now. Their father made them practise day and night and motivated them too.
