Sniti Mishra Biography

Sniti Mishra is a trained vocalist in Hindustani classical music, who also works in Bollywood films. She lent her voice for the Bollywood movie Babloo Happy Hai. She sang the track, "Bade Bade Akshar" composed by Bishakh-Kanish with the lyrics penned by Protique Mojoomdar. She also rendered her voice for D. Imman’s Tamil movie Maaveeran Kittu, where she sang the track – Elanthaari (reprise version). She appeared for the first time in the Zee TV musical reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar. She is a band member of Indo-Swedish Fusion jazz band Mynta.

 

Sniti Mishra hails from Bolangir, Odisha. She is a trained Hindustani vocalist, who took formal training from Guru Shri Raghunath Sahoo, a disciple of Dr. Damodar Hota of the Gwalior Gharana.  She was born and raised in Balangir. She has one elder sibling. After taking formal training in Hindustani music, she studied Music (Visharad) at Gandharv Music University, Mumbai. She graduated in Master’s Business Administration in 2011. After studies, she got associated with the music band Mynta, and also collaborated with many Indian musicians of cine world to perform on stage for live concerts in many countries. She has been collaborated with Louis Banks and percussionist Sivamani.

 

Apart from her Hindustani live concerts, she has also rendered her voice for a few film songs, both in Bollywood and south film industry. She was honoured with 'Baji Rout Samman 2016’ by Utkala Cultural Association, IIT Mumbai. During her musical tour to USA in 2013, she was chosen as a Good Will Ambassador for a global charity Combat Blindness International. She has also performed live for social causes.
