Shweta Subram Biography

Shweta Subram is a Canadian singer of Indian origin. She also sings for Bollywood and regional language films. She is known for her stage shows and she has released numerous singles too. She has also done many cover version songs. Known to be a rockstar performer she is known for performing songs which include popular and upbeat Bollywood songs along with evergreen classics. She is a band member of Sunsilk Gang of Girls (Zoom TV). She has also hosted a few TV and radio shows. Shweta sang three songs for Mostly Sunny, a biography of Sunny Leone and her Tamil song Mella Mella for her debut flick Maayavan was also a hit.

 

Shweta was born in Dubai, UAE. During her teens she moved to Canada along with her family and got settled in Ottawa, Ontario. She holds a graduation in commerce from Carleton University. She started singing only as a hobby and slowly developed passion towards it. She also earned appreciation and recognitions and it prompted her to pursue a career in this field. She won North American Best Singer award from Sangam Kala Group. Since then she concentrated more towards Indian music, and moved her base to India, where she is live with her performances and she also works as a playback singer in Indian film industry.

 

Initially she joined ZOOM TV, a film-based Indian channel in early 2010s. Shweta returned to Canada in order to focus on independent music, and released her first single, Jee Le Live Life followed by Ajooba. Both these songs got noticed. She was chosen by The Piano Guys to the render an Indian adaptation of Swedish House Mafia's Don't You Worry Child, which gave her a major break to her professional singing career.
