Shrikant Narayan Biography 
Shrikant Narayan is an Indian singer quite popular with his stage shows. He is best known for recreating the songs of Bollywood singing legend, Mohammed Rafi on stage. He has also rendered his voice for a few films songs. As a playback singer, he is best known for the Marathi song, Dol Doltay Warya Vari released in 1986 and became a huge chartbuster. He has recorded songs in different Indian languages including all the 4 south Indian languages, Hindi and Marathi.
When Shrikant started his career as a stage singer during 1985-1986, he rendered only songs from the '60s to '70s that were composed by Bollywood greats like Madan Mohan, Naushad, Shankar-Jaikis- hen, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and RD Burman. But Iyer introduced him to the songs of '40s and '50s by maestros like Husnlal-Bhagatram, Shyam Sunder and Ghulam Haider, and he started performing those songs as well. Shrikant had the privilege of having Rafi's daughter Nasreen and son-in-law Ahmed Mehraj attending many of his shows dedicated to the late singer. At a few rare occasions, almost all family members of Rafi would be present among audience to watch his singing live.
Apart from Rafi, he performs on stage, songs sung by Hemant Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Manna Dey and Kishore Kumar too. He even attempted contemporary Indipop. With a voice that sounds like Rafi, he has earned a lot of fans and supporters. Apart from India, he has also performed in US and many other countries. He has also performed a few live shows under Bollywood’s great composers like O. P. Nayyar, Ravi, Naushad and Laxmikanth-Pyarelal.
He also dreams to get a major break in Bollywood. When he started his career in mid-1980s, the first of his recordings won him a platinum disc for a Koli song. Government of Maharashtra has honoured him with Kala Bhushan award. Narayan holds the distinction of performing songs of Mohammed Rafi for 13 hours at an event “Pukarta Chala hoon main - Marathon Mohammed Rafi nite’ held at Mumbai on the Christmas night of 2012. Till now he has performed more than 1000 stage shows in India and abroad.
