Shishir Parkhie Biography 
Shishir Parkhie is an Indian singer who hails from Nagpur, Maharashtra. He gained recognition as a ghazal and devotional singer, who specializes in Bhajan singing. He also sings playback and has composed many songs as well. He is associated with the world of music since late 1980s. Over the years, he has travelled across the world with his ghazal and bhajan performances, and a huge fan following crowd. He is a graded artiste of All India Radio. He has also released many albums for some of the leading music companies of India such as Saregama, Times Music, T-Series etc.
Shishir Parkhie was born on 7 November 1967 at Nagpur into a musical family. He was introduced to the world of music at a very young age. He learnt the primary lessons of Hindustani vocals from his mother, Pratima Parkhie. He started learning tabla at the age of 6, and later expertise in this music instrument under the tutelage of Kedarnath Thakur for three years. He also learnt Hindustani music from Narayanrao Mangrulkar & Rekha Saney of Nagpur. He delivered his first solo performance at the age of 15, and after that he dedicated his whole life towards the field of singing and promotion of Indian music, in India as well as abroad.
In 1979, at the age of 13 he received an award from All India Radio on the occasion of International Year of the Child in 1979. He later learnt keyboard and was regular with stage performances working as a key board artist in the 1990s. Ahteraam- Tribute to the legendary poet, Once More Ghazals, Qurbat, Aashnaai, Khulus, Roomaniyat etc are among his ghazal albums, which were widely accepted.
