Shefali Alvares Biography 
Shefali Alvares is an upcoming playback singer of Bollywood. She sings fast numbers for Bollywood and they are quite popular too. She is the daughter of the legendary Indian jazz singer Joe Alvares. She is best known for the chartbuster hits like Tera Naam Japti Phiran of Cocktail, Subha Hone Na De of Dezi Boys, O Gujariya of Queen, ABCD of Yaariyan, Ratta Maar of Student of the Year, Badtameez dil of Yeh jawaani hai deewani, Party On My Mind of Race 2 and a few more. She has been one of the top discoveries of music Bollywood in the past two years and owns many dancing numbers in her kitty. Pritam has given her some lovely compositions from Bollywood. She has also worked with Amit Trivedi and Vishal-Shekhar.
She was born in a musical family in 1983. Her father is one of the prominent Indian voices of jazz music - Joe Alvares. She studied at Holy Cross Convent High School in Thane and graduated at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. She met Pritam for the first time around 5 years ago. Her biggest three hits - Subah Hone Na De (Tu Mera Hero), Party On My Mind and Batameez dil are given by none other than Preetam. He was in search of a new voice to sing his party numbers and as other playback singers are well-versed in classical music he decided to choose a distinct voice. That’s how Shefali got her big break to Bollywood.
She also sang songs like Hey Mr. DJ and Dhating Naach of Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Tera Naam Japti Phiran of Cocktail, Thoda Sa Pyaar of Kucch Luv Jaisaa and Steal the Night of Agent Vinod for Pritam. O mama miya of Telugu movie, Saleem was her first break to singing industry. Her music tastes include Jazz, R N B, Rock, Retro, Pop, Semi Classical Opera, Funk, Lounge, Experimental Fusion and Hip-hop.
