Sharon Joseph Biography

Sharon Joseph is an Indian singer and lyricist who had sung Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi and English songs. She is of Kerala origin, but born and brought up in Pune. She started her journey as a playback singer through the Malayalam movie Hangover released on 2014. She has done for movies, ad films and so many albums. She is active in the industry since 2000. She has done many jingles which make her a popular figure in ad industry. She has also penned down lyrics for several ad film songs and a few film songs.

 

Sharon Joseph was born on 17 July 1989 in Pune, Maharashtra, India. She is married and has a daughter. The family is now settled in Kochi, Kerala. She was always interested in singing since young. When she was just three, she used to replicate the songs her father used to sing and she has been learning Carnatic music too. She was born and brought up in Pune. Yet her mother made sure that she learnt her mother tongue Malayalam.

 

She had a habit of sending lyrics in a recorded voice but never thought it will give her a chance to sing in a movie. She got such a chance for the first time for the movie, Oppam which was directed by Priyadarshan. When she sent the audio clip, she was asked to sing the song by herself and she started writing Hindi lyrics as well. The song, Pala Naalaayi was included in the film. Some of Sharon’s best songs as a playback singer are Pala Naalaayi from Oppam, Vellithingal from Hangover, Trailer Edit from C/O Saira Banu, Kathal Konjum from Swetha 5/10 Wellington Road, Shishiravaanil from Chinna Dada.
