Shaheen Sheik Biography 
Shaheen Sheik is an American singer and performer of Indian origin. She is also known as a song-writer, producer, musician, DJ, dancer and an actress based in Los Angeles. She is associated with rock/pop, electronic and chill-out genres of music. She is of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu origin. Sheik is a classically trained Bharatanatyam dancer, and also played Anisha Kishore in the film "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World." Live from Santosha (2003), In Your Love (EP) (2003), Rock Candy (2005) and Revolution (2008) are the albums released till now.
Shaheen Sheik was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Tamil Indian parents. Her father Iqbal Sheik is a psychiatrist and her mother Sharfudheen Sheik, a mechanical engineer. She has one elder brother. Her family moved to Orange County, California during her teens. Since young she started learning classical dance apart from different forms of Indian and western music. She took classes for vocal, guitar and sarod. She later completed her graduation in Anthropology and law studies too. After completing her studies in year 2000, she turned a full-time musician and singer.
Sheik moved to Los Angeles and began making the open mic circuit with contemporaries. She released her first album, Live from Santosha in 2003 and the same year, Sheik released her first studio EP, "In Your Love." Her first full-length album, Rock Candy, was released in 2005. In 2008, she released her sophomore album Revolution. She has also collaborated with many international artists for live performances as well as the release of singles and albums. She is married to real estate developer, Harpal Sadhal since 2007, and the couple has one son and one daughter.
