Sangita Santosham Biography 
Sangita Santosham is a performing artist and singer based in Chennai. She sings in multiple languages in western classical music, contemporary jazz, film music etc. She is also formally trained in musical theatre. She has been associated with renowned international artists like Ehsaan Noorani, Neecia Majolly, Sir David Willcocks, Keba Jeremiah etc for state performances as well as releasing singles. Though she belongs to a family of renowned medical specialists, she chose music as her career.
Sangita Santosham was born in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu into a family of physicians specialized in different branches of medical science. Julia Santosham and Dr. Ravi Santosham are her parents. Her grandfather Dr. Mathuram Santosham was an Indian politician and parliamentarian. He was also a renowned physician. Yet her family also owned musical inclinations. Her father Dr. Ravi Santosham is a patron of arts, who supported Sangita to pursue a career in music. Sangita studied western classical singing at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music in Oklahoma City. She also trained under Neecia Majolly, in musical theatre, western classical singing and music theory. She is one of the very rare Indian artists who formally took training in musical theatre.
As active participant in musical theatre, she has been invited to perform with various theatre groups. Over the years her commanding stage presence and easiness with which she handles different genres of music has earned her a lot of fans. She has been a part of the Madras Musical Association choir since the age of 15. She has given both solo and jugalbandi performances with artists across the globe. Pop Shalini, Sunitha Sarathy, Andrea Jeremiah, Kalyani Nair etc are among them.
