Ruchi Sharma (singer) Biography

Ruchi Sharma is an Indian singer from Bhiwani, Haryana. She got noticed for the first time at STAR Voice of India 2, a singing talent hunt hosted by Shaan in 2008. In fact she contested in the first season of the show – Chote Ustaad, but got eliminated easily. She is a trained Hindustani singer who is into playback singing. She is now learning music from Bade Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. This talented singer is now popular through her singles, she uploads on YouTube and other platforms of social media, and one of her popular songs is ‘Is Raat Ki Na Ho’ released on Lehren Music in November 2015.

Ruchi Sharma was born on May 21, 1992 in Bhiwani, Haryana. She started learning Hindustani music in her teens. Her parents Anil Sharma and Geeta Sharma hailing from Ghaziabad are interested in music and singing, and they promoted the budding talent of Ruchi Sharma as a singer. She started learning Hindustani music from Ritesh Mishra, son of Padma Bhushan Pandit Rajan Mishra in 2007. The following year she got opportunity to perform with the famous - Pandits Rajan-Sajan Mishra, exponents of Banaras Vocal Gharana.

She continued with her music lessons in Mumbai, learning Hindustani music from Gautam Mukherjee, son-in-law of legendary composer & singer Hemant Kumar. She also completed Sangeet Visharad in Indian Classical music. She gained recognition for the first time through STAR Voice of India 2 in 2008, though she couldn’t win it. She has released singles such as Baarish aside Prateek Nandan and a solo – Mehfil – E – Shyaam. She is currently continuing her Hindustani vocal training and looking forward to playback singing.
