Rohit Bharadwaj Biography

Rohit Bharadwaj is a young and talented actor associated with Hindi television, best known for playing Yudhistir in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's Mahabharata. Actually he first auditioned for the role of Lord Krishna, but finally landed into the role of Yudhistir, the eldest of Pandava brothers. Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Navya, Ranbir Rano and now Mahabharata, the actor has created a niche of his own. He appeared in a Punjabi short film Waapasi.

Rohit Bharadwaj was born in Punjab. He excelled in his studies during childhood. He wanted to pursue Masters in Administration. But when he shifted to Delhi, he got deeply fascinated by the world of theater, with which he got associated. For some reasons, he couldn’t give his final semester exams and had to wait for a short period to re-appear. In that interval theatre happened! He became part of several theatre groups as a stage actor. That’s how he later decided to move to Mumbai to try his luck in the entertainment industry. Rohit is married to his childhood friend and they knew each other since class 10. They have been good friends for long years before they realised it as love. The lovely couple has a sweet daughter – Parthivi.

Most recently in July 2015 he acted in a Punjabi short film Waapasi, directed by Deepak Sharma. In his words there is less scope for short films in India and it took two and a half years to shoot it, as they couldn’t get a producer. But it gives a creative satisfaction for sure. The film was awarded at the 3rd Dada Saheb Film Festival and he bagged the best actor award for his performance in the short film. Though he is a popular actor on television, his dream is to become a film actor.
