Riya Deepsi Biography

Riya Deepsi is a popular television actress associated with Hindi entertainment industry. She played the role of Gandhari in Star Plus' mythological series, Mahabharata aired in 2013. The show marked her acting debut. Later she was seen in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Box Cricket League, Razia Sultan and Begusarai. Currently, she plays the supporting role of Princess Barsine in Porus, aired since 2018. Riya mostly plays supporting roles and is one among the well-known faces of small screen today. She is a successful model too and theatre artist associated with Nadira Babbber's group, who later moved to acting.

Riya marked her professional career with modelling and later started doing supporting roles for Hindi shows. As a debutant, essaying the mature role of Gandhari is not so easy, a role that even senior artists would be scared to touch in terms of its magnificence. But Riya had done justice to the character and made her presence felt. But she feels that acting with a blindfold is scary. She has earlier done a brief role in Mata Ki Chowki. Very soon she bagged some meaty supporting roles on small screen. She is a good friend of her co-star of the show, Shafaq Naaz who played the role of Kunti in the mythological series.

Initially she was considered for some other character but then she met Siddharth he told her that she was to play Gandhari. Her parents and close friends feel that her eyes are the most beautiful feature on her face, and to express everything by covering eyes could be the real challenge for her, a newcomer. But she is a theater artist before her foray to television. She has been associated with Nadira Babbber's group for almost 4 years.
