Riva Bubber Biography

Riva Bubber is a television actress who appears in Hindi daily soaps. She was seen in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr, Ram Milaayi Jodi etc. She entered small screen playing the female protagonist in Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr. She appeared in a couple of Tamil movies in the late 1990s. Currently she portrays the role of Priyamvada in mythological series - Suryaputra Karn on Sony television Network. Riva has a close friends circle in the television field and they include Gauri Pradhan Tejwani, Hiten Tejwani, Sumeet Sachdev, and Rakshanda Khan.

Riva Bubber was born in Mumbai to Punjabi parents. She has two elder brothers. One of them is an hotelier while the second resides in US. Riva holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Mithibai College, Mumbai. She has been a model and has worked in south Indian movies before starting her career in television. 1996 Tamil movie Selva marked her acting debut. She worked aside Ajith and Swathi for this movie. It was followed by Roja Malare (1997) where she played lead heroine opposite Murali.

Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr aired on Star Plus in 2002 marked her television debut. She was casted as the female protagonist, thus getting a big break to the industry. She played the central role of a simple small town girl who has just arrived in Mumbai. Amit Sadh was paired opposite her. Then she worked in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi for 5 years. She played Damini Virani, daughter-in-law of Thulasi in this series.

She took a break of two years before joining the team of 'Ram Milaayi Jodi’. She had put on weight for her show, 'Ram Milaayi Jodi’ and she doesn’t mind accepting roles over her age. She says that an actor will never get roles of her age. She played the role of Smriti in Balaji’s ‘K Street Pali Hill’.
