Rimi Basu Sinha Biography 
Rimi Basu Sinha is a Hindustani vocalist and female music composer from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. She holds a Master’s degree in Hindustani Classical music from Allahabad University and also studied Sangeet Prabhakar and Senior Diploma in Light Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. She has collaborated with many leading singers of Indian film industry and released a few independent music albums too. She was active since 1986.
She was born in a Bengali family in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. When she was only six years old she started loving music and singing, and also started learning Hindustani music. Her parents encouraged her to take it up as a subject and after her marriage, her husband too. At the age of fifteen she became AIR artiste and took part in several concerts. Presently she is a top graded artiste of AIR and Doordarshan. Sakhi – Celebrating Womenhood is one of her albums, which includes her hit songs.
She composed music for independent albums such as Maiya Ka Darbaar (2008), Sakhi (2010) and Krishna Krishna (2011). After shifting her base to Delhi, she remained active in the world of TV serials and films. She sang many title tracks, songs and jingles for popular brands in many languages. Her major achievement was the release of her solo album from the prestigious company HMV. “Jane Hamri Bindiya” was a huge success and found wide coverage all around in the media.
In the year 2000 she moved to Nairobi and she carved out a place for herself in the field of music and culture. She was entrusted by Chinmaya Mission Seva Trust Kenya, to bring out their album “Bhakti”. For her contribution towards promoting Indian culture and music in Kenya, Indian High Commission invited her to perform on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti organized at UN in Africa.
