Resham Tipnis Biography

Resham Tipnis is a film and television actress, associated with Bollywood and Marathi entertainment industry. She has also appeared in several Hindi television serials. She played the character role of Saroj in Do Dil Ek Jaan on Life OK, and currently plays the role of Babita in Satrangi Sasural. She has portrayed several character roles in Hindi and Marathi films, and best known for playing the role of Anjali Sinha in Baazigar (1993), Shilpa Shetty’s friend who is murdered by Shah Rukh Khan in the second half of the movie. Most recently she played Daisy Shah's mother in Jai Ho (2014). She was also seen in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002).

Resham Tipnis was born on 28 August 1973 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She got married to actor Sanjeev Seth in 1993 at the age of 20. He was 12 year older to her and the couple had two children. Same year she was seen in a pivot role in the Bollywood blockbuster – Baazigar, the movie which marked her Bollywood debut. However the couple parted in 2004 and Sanjeev later tied the knot with his Yeh Rishtaa Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Lataa Sabharwal, and kids are staying with their father.

Resham Tipnis and Lataa have worked together in television and they have no issues. Resham states that she was not mature enough when she got married and became mother at a very young age and she now regrets for the divorce. She thinks that if she had been more mature and he more understanding, divorce would have never happened. However Resham and Sanjeev shares a good friendly relationship now, and talk on a daily basis.

Some of her popular roles on television include - Do Dil Ek Jaan as Saroj, Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan as Asavari, Ghar Ek Sapnaa as Trisha, Chandan Ka Palna Resham Ki Dori as Shikha, Basera as Rasiki, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby as Devki, Karishma – The Miracles of Destiny as Natasha and Satrangi Sasural as Babita. She has played supporting roles in Marathi films like Premasathi Coming Suun.
