Ranjin Raj Biography

Ranjin Raj is a playback singer, music composer and musician belonging to Malayalam film industry. This budding music composer was highly appreciated for his debut work, Joseph released in 2018. In fact, two of his first films got released on the same day, Joseph and Nithya Haritha Nayakan. Nithya Haritha Nayakan went unnoticed. But his unique compositions for Joseph earned him a lot of praises. Ormayil Oru Shishiram was the third release of the year. Some of the popular songs of the thriller hit Joseph are "Poomuthole", "Karineela Kannulla", "Pandu Paadavarambathiloode" and "Uyirin Naadhane".

 

Ranjin Raj Varma hails from a royal family of Melarcode, Palakkad. M. Rajendran and Supriya Rajendran are his parents. He was born on 11 December 1988. He started singing at a very age of three. His parents nourished his talents and also initiated to the world of Carnatic age at the age of 7. As a singer his first appearance on television was for the show, Idea Star Singer in 2007, but couldn’t make any gains. Later he switched over to music direction for television shows and slowly gained foot in the industry. His success in the television industry opened doors to Malayalam cinema, and his work got noticed with the debut film itself.

 

Comedy Utsavam was one of the TV shows for which he initially he worked as a composer, and he also composed many jingles. 2018 has been a big year for the young composer, with three releases in a calendar year, apart from composing scores for two promo videos for Mohanlal starrer Odiyan, which became instant hits. The year also marked his debut in Mollywood.  Before that he has already made his debut as a playback singer in Kannada film industry, and has also rendered his voice for a few Tamil film songs.
