Rajamani Biography 
Rajamani was a popular music director and background scorer associated with Malayalam film industry. He was the son of legendary musician and composer - B. A. Chidambaranath, one of the pioneers of Malayalam film music. His son Achu Rajamani is also a young composer associated with south Indian film music. Apart from giving music for more than 150 film songs, Rajamani has done background score for more than 735 films belonging to 10 languages, which itself is a record. Rajamani is credited to scoring background music to maximum number of films in Malayalam film industry. This legendary musician passed away on the Valentine’s Day 2016, just one day after the demise of the great poet cum lyricist – ONV Kurup.
As a music composer, he composed music aside Raghu Kumar for Malayalam classic – Thalavattom starring Mohanlal. Its evergreen songs are still loved by millions. Rajamani composed one of the most memorable tracks of the movie – Koottil Ninnum mettil Vanna sung by M. G. Sreekumar. Nanda Kishora of Ekalavya and Thaarame of The News are other noted compositions as a music composer. He was a native of Kuthiravattom of Kozhikode district. He was settled at Kochi.
He made his debut in the Malayalam entertainment industry as a music director through the 1985 movie "Nulli novikkathe." Prior to that, he has made his debut in Tamil film industry through ‘Gramath Kilikal’ in 1983. Though he composed music for a few movies, he got success as a background scorer than a music director. "Ekalavyan," "Commissioner", "The King," "Aaraam Thampuran", "Narasimham," "Nandanam” etc are among his noted works, though it is not an easy task to pick a few movies from his works of more than 700. Through "Aaraam Thampuran" he bagged State award for best Background scorer.
