Rajalakshmy Biography 
Rajalakshmy is a popular playback singer of Malayalam film industry. She is the winner of Kerala State Film Award for the Best Playback Singer in 2011. She won the award for the song – Olichirunne from the movie, Janakan, composed by M. Jayachandran and lyrics was penned by Gireesh Puthenchery. Apart from Malayalam films, she has also worked for Tamil and Kannada movies. She was nominated for national awards for the movie, Kutty Shrank in 2009, though she was not able to win. She is a recipient of Kerala State Sangeetha Nataka Academy for the Best Playback Singer in 2004 and 2014.
She was born into a musical family in Ernakulam. Her mother Parvathy has been a professional singer since 1960s and it was her mother, who identified Rajalakshmy’s singing talents quite at a younger age. She took graduation in English from St. Teresa's College, Eranakulam. She got married in 2004 and has one son. She currently resides in Thiruvananthapuram. Her musical journey started at an age of 9, where she started appearing in live music concerts. She has been associated with Tansen Music, Cochin Kalabhavan, Cochin Melodies, C.A.C. etc as a singing artist and has rendered her voice for more than 1000 musical albums. She has worked with many renowned artists of Malayalam film industry.
Her first break to Malayalam films was given by Jassie Gift for the movie – Aswaroodan in 2006. Since then she is associated with film industry. But her first song noticed was for the movie, 'Orkuka Vallapozhum', composed by M. Jayachandran. With the song, Olichirunne from the movie, Janakan she became one of the leading singers of the industry. She also received First Vellinakshathram Award for the same song. She is a recipient of Kerala State Sangeetha Nataka Academy award twice.
