Rahul Raj Biography 
Rahul Raj is a young music director of Malayalam movies. Through the music of private album, En Jeevene, in 2003 he shot to fame and later given music for many memorable movies like - Chotta Mumbai, Annan Thampi, Bachelor party, D company, Kili poyi, Malabar Wedding, Crazy gopalan and Ritu. His upcoming projects are Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 and London Bridge. Ritu still remains his best music contribution. He received state awards for its background score. He is to make Bollywood debut as a music director very soon.
He was born in Kochi to Advocate E. Thankappan and N. S. Kunjoonjamma. His schooling was completed in Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara. He started learning mridangam at the age of 6. He started formal learning in Carnatic music also at the same age. He holds a BTech degree from prestigious CUSAT, Kochi and later studies courses like CCNP and CCIE in Bangalore ILloka networks. During this period, he had undergone training in Electronic Sound Production. In 2002 he assisted Pradeep Menon, a UK-based Indian businessman to remix and re-launch an Ayyappa devotional album that was earlier released in 1985. The devotional album produced in the UK, Canada and India is titled Sabari Beats. Later he moved towards jingles and did more than 100 in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. He also did many original theme compositions for several television productions.
In 2003, he composed the Lokaha song for Amrithavarsam 50. The composition of private album, En jeevane was a big break to his music career. This particular album was a huge hit in Kerala including its title track and "Pularmanjupol Nee". He debut film world in 2007 with Chotta Mumbai, starring Mohanlal and Bhavana in the lead. Thus he became a part of Malayalam film industry.
