Raftaar (rapper) Biography

Dilin Nair, best known by his stage name Raftaar is an Indian rapper, music composer and playback singer of Kerala origin. He was formerly a member of Yo Yo Honey Singh’s urban music group Mafia Mundeer. After leaving the group, he signed to perform on three records of the Punjabi band RDB. He then worked with Manj Musik of RDB and also started his solo career. "Swag Mera Desi" in 2014 is one of his popular singles which won many music awards. In 2017 he marked his playback singing debut in Bengali cinema through the title track of thriller – One. He also composed and sang the track "Dekho Dekho Chaamp" for the Bengali film, Chaamp in 2017. He has also rendered his voice for several Bollywood music tracks.

Dilin Nair was born on 16 November 1988. As a singer, he gained recognition after performing as a band member of Mafia Mundeer, alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh. Raftaar and Singh together crooned several hit songs such as “Sharabia” and “Kamli kamli” feat Rimz J. After breakup with the group he continued with his success streak with many hit singles, and he has also done many rap songs for Bollywood movies. Most recently he released an album titled Zero To Infinity in 2018.

As a playback singer, his debut happened with Bullet Raja in 2013, where he rendered his voice for "Tamanchey Pe Disco". Since then he has done many peppy numbers for Bollywood films, and many of them became chartbuster hits. "Dhup Chik" of Fugli, "Whistle Baja" and "The Puppy Song" of Heropanti, "Singh and Kaur" of Singh Is Bliing, "Zinda Hai" of Tiger Zinda Hai, "Warna Gabbar Aa Jayega" of Gabbar is Back, "A Flying Jatt Title Track", "Haseeno Ka Deewana" of Kaabil, "Let's Talk About Love" of Baaghi etc are among his Bollywood songs.
