Rachita Arora Biography

Rachita Arora is a female singer and music composer who predominantly works in Bollywood. As a music composer she got her first major break through Anurag Kashyap movie, Mukkabaaz. "Chal Tu Apna Kaam Kar" for the movie Newton was her work as a music composer. In 2017 she gave the background score of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, one of the rare achievements among female composers of the industry. Sacred Games (2018) is her major work among web series. Kanpuriye (2019), Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), Sadak 2 etc are a few more. Apart from films she also composed songs for theatre.

 

She was born in Delhi. Her younger days were spent in Delhi, where she completed her schooling. She is formally trained in Hindustani music. Arora started her career by composing music for theatre plays in Delhi. While at Mumbai she met Makarand Deshpande at Prithvi Theatre, who offered her the first break. Arora composed the music for his 50th original play, Epic Gadbad. Makarand Deshpande later introduced her to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, and that’s how she got the project, Mukkabaaz. Newton was her first Bollywood work. After that she composed and rendered voice for a few hit songs in Bollywood.

 

Mukkabaaz was her first signed project, though it had a delayed theatre release. It was Aanand L Rai who gave her the offer to compose the background score of Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan, which released prior to Mukkabaaz. As a composer Mukkabaaz gave her a big break, and her work got noticed. The album generally received a positive response, and she composed 7 out of the 10 tracks of the album, and also rendered her voice for the song, "Bahut Dukha Mann".
