Rabbit Mac Biography

Charles John Macallum, better known by the stage name - Rabbit Mac is an Indian based singer from Malaysia. Hip Hop and Rap are his genres of music and he is quite popular in Malaysian music scene. He has also collaborated with many Indian artists for various programs and stage shows. He has released three albums so far and has collaborated with other artists for more than 50 albums. He has also rendered his voice for a few Tamil and Telugu Indian film songs in the recent times and has been associated with young composers - S. Thaman and Yuvan Shankar Raja till now. He made his film debut as an actor through – Maindhan in 2014.

 

He was born in Penang, Malaysia on 20th July 1982. His passion and curiosity to music prompted him to learn music at young age and he was spotted by leading pubs and bistros who hired him for special musical shows. His first studio album was produced in the year 2005, in collaboration with Mista West and D.J.Bluezi. Petronas & Alaggapa's TV Ads was his career breakthrough. In 2014, he made his acting debut as a lead actor for Malaysia’s highest grosser Tamil film – Maindhan, produced by Punnagai Poo Gheetha. He also received Best male debut award at Malaysian Kalai Ulagam Awards 2015.

 

Apart from singing along with artists across the world, he has also composed a sound track for Jaya TV’s “Thuppariyum Pulli”. As a playback singer of Indian movies, he has been featured in many promo songs. His noted tracks are "Sweety" for Race Gurram, "Run for your life" for Biriyani, "Champion" for Yatchan and "Ria" for Bruce Lee - The Fighter. Music, Designing and Photography are his hobbies.
