Perumbavoor G. Raveendranath Biography 
Perumbavoor G. Raveendranath is a carnatic musician as well as a composer from the state of Kerala. As a music composer he shot to instant fame with his debut Malayalam film, Thoovanathumbikal in 1987. Both the film and its music are widely regarded as cult classic. The movie had only two songs - Onnam Raagam Paadi and Megham Poothu Thudangi, and both became immensely popular. Raveendranath has composed the evergreen music for a few more Malayalam movies like Innale, Aksharam, Sneham etc, and most recently he made a comeback through Poomaram which got released in 2018.
Perumbavoor Gopalapilla Raveendranath was born on 5 January 1944 in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam. V R Gopalapilla and Bhargaviamma are his parents. He is married to Shobha Menon and has 2 children. He completed his graduation in Chemistry from Sree Sankara College Kalady. Though he has composed many popular songs of Malayalam cinema, he is best known as a Carnatic musician and vocalist. He worked in only less number of films as a music composer.
He won the Kerala State Film Award for the best music director for Padmarajan movie - Innale. The movie included only two songs - Kannil Nin Meyyil and Nee Vin Poo Pol, just like his previous outing with the same director in Thoovanathumbikal. Thus his career best compositions are given for Padmarajan films. He teamed up with K. J. Yesudas for Tharangani studio and released several devotional albums in Malayalam in the 1990s and later. His album Thrimadhuram is one of their most popular works together. Perariyaathoru Nombarathe of Sneham is yet another popular song composed by Perumbavoor. Alanchery Thambrakkal, Vasudha, Sayahnam, Thandavam, Aksharam etc are a few more works.
