Pawan Shankar Biography

Pawan Shankar is a popular actor of Hindi TV soaps, who played protagonist numerous times. Since his debut as a lead actor in TV series, Siddhant in 2004, he played the title/parallel lead role in Vicky Ki Taxi, Kya Huaa Tera Vaada and Jeet Jayenge Hum. The latest buzz is that he is to play lead role in the second season of the most popular series of Sony TV - 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hain'. Aamna Sharif is to play the female lead and Pawan-Aamna pair is to reprise the successful Jodi of Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar on small screen. Can they repeat the magic woven by Ram and Sakshi?

Pawan was born into a middle class family in Lucknow. He holds an MBA degree in finance from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. A graduate from St. Joseph College, he is a gold medalist. Pawan also excelled in sports during his college days. He was a national cadet champion in table tennis, who played for Uttar Pradesh in Under-17 tournaments. After completing MBA, he worked in corporate sector for four years before he quit his job. Then he joined Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School, Mumbai to study acting.

In 2004 he made his debut in the lead role through the show, Siddhant. The show was successfully aired on Star One during the period 2004-2006. In 2006, he bagged his second TV soap - Aisa Desh Hai Mera playing the pivot role of Ajit Singh, lead actress Rusty's love-interest who later marries Rusty's cousin, Kandy. Saumya Tandon played the role of Rusty Deol in the show. After playing a couple of supporting roles in Kasamh Se and Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasmaan, he gained momentum and later played lead roles several times. In 2011 he made his Bollywood debut through Mr. Bhatti on Chutti.
