Nikhil Chinapa Biography

Nikhil Chinapa is a popular DJ, VJ and RJ and presenter of MTV India. He is the Festival Director of Asia's premier music festival Sunburn Festival in Goa, 2013. He has established himself as a DJ and has done radio shows. He also owns a music company called Submerge that arranges gigs by international DJs in the country. He is instrumental in bringing international DJs like Swedish House Mafia, Alesso, Deniz Koyu, Armin Van Buuren, Zedd, Hardwell and Tiesto to Sunburn Festival in Goa. He is also known for co-hosting popular shows of MTV India, MTV Splitsvilla and MTV Roadies. He has also hosted 2 Seasons of "India's Got Talent" along with Ayushmann Khurrana on Colors. He has also appeared in a few movies.

Chinnappa was born in Bangalore on June 6, 1973. But his childhood was spent at Agra where he did his schooling and degree course. He studied from St. George's College, Agra. He took a degree in architecture. He has also studied in Bangalore, as a part of his father’s official job transfers. Chinappa’s music company is called Submerge Music which aims at bringing international VJs to Indian shows and also promotes upcoming DJs and events at various clubs at metro cities. He is active in twitter also and a very popular candidate. His weekly radio show called 'Together' commonly known as TGTR on Saturday nights is also very popular. He has recently launched his first compilation album, Defected in the House India 2013.

Though Chinnappa holds an architect degree, he auctioned for MTV’s VJ hunt in 1997, the first time which MTV conducted such a talent hunt worldwide. It changed his path and later he became a part of entertainment and music industry. Nikhil is interested in acting too and has appeared in a few movies like David, Shaitan, Pyaar Kiya Nahin Jaatha, Snip and Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamaana. His explicit scenes in the movie Snip invited controversies also.
