Mridula Vijay Biography

Mridula Vijay is a well-known film and television actress associated with Malayalam & Tamil entertainment industry, best known for the television series, Krishna Thulasi. The show was aired on Mazhavil Manorama. She also worked in Kalyana Saugandhikam and Manjurukum Kaalam. Her popular films include ‘Jeniffer Karuppaiya’, Kadal Anbe Murikkum’ and ‘Celebration’. Though she started off playing lead roles in Tamil films, she earned recognition through Malayalam serials later.

Mridula hails from Thiruvananthapuram and is currently settled in Pappanamcode in the outskirts of the city. Her father works in a private firm and her mother is a house wife. She has one younger sister. Since younger days Mridula started learning dance forms. Drawing is her next passion, which she got from her father. She studied at Cotton Hills Girls High School. She appeared in a channel reality show while studying in the school and reached till semi-finals. She studied dance at Dwani School first, followed by television celebrity and dancer, Thara Kalyan.

Since young she dreamt to become an actress and her mother was well-supportive too. She acted in a Malayalam short film, but couldn’t complete it. But some photos taken for that short film gave her an opportunity in Tamil movies. That’s how she got her first film break at the age of 15 through the movie, ‘Jeniffer Karuppaiya’. She played the female lead, Rosy in her debut flick. It was followed by another Tamil flick, ‘Kadal Anbe Murikkum’ in a lead role and her character name was Malar.

Very soon she get offers from Malayalam cinema, and ‘Celebrations’ marked her Malayalam film debut in a lead role, and she got two more Malayalam film, Infinity and Next Token Number. She was not interested in doing serials when she got her first television role. But her mother is a great lover of television soaps. That’s how she got into television serials. In fact she lost the opportunity of Krishna Tulasi 2 times and finally grabbed it in the third attempt.
