Mini Menon Biography
Mini Menon is a formal model who works as an anchor on Indian television at present. She was crowned Miss India Asia-Pacific 1996. Instead of following a career in Bollywood and show biz, she decided to choose a career in business or financial bulletins on news channels. Currently Menon is the executive editor with Bloomberg UTV. This Indian journalist is a popular face on political and business news channels for the last 15 years. As a news anchor and journalist, she has won many awards and recognitions. In 2013, her name was listed among the top 10 most influential women in Indian Marketing, Advertising and Media by Impact magazine.
Mini was born in Jammu and her father was in military. Throughout her childhood she travelled from place to place and studied at different schools due to the frequent transfers of her father. She nourished her deep interest in Indian history and culture as a part of her travels. She completed graduation in History from St Stephen’s college, Delhi and completed her Masters in Communication Research in the University of Pune. She started modelling in her college days and participated in Miss India contest while doing her second year. Though she had a promised career ahead as a successful model, she chose journalism as her career unlike the other beauty contest winners. She won Chevening scholarship in 2001 to study Broadcast journalism in UK.
After studies she joined Indian television and currently holds 15 years of work experience in Indian television industry. Newshour with Arnab Goswami and Bazaar with Udayan Mukherjee are her most successful shows as a television anchor. Currently Menon is the executive editor with Bloomberg UTV.
