Mathumila Biography

Mathumila is a television anchor and actress from Sri Lanka, who appears in Tamil television. Office, Thayumanavan and Agni Paravai are her popular series on Tamil television. Her role as Lakshmi in Office in Vijay TV has made Mathumila a household name in Tamil Nadu. She started her career as an anchor in 2012 with Makkal TV and later moved to television serials. Mathumila is originally from Jafna, Sri Lanka. her cute looks and decorous performance have made numerous fans club and fan followers too.

She completed her schooling in Sri Lanka. Later she did graduation in English in Atraz, where she was busy with cultural events. She never dreamt to become an actress and she started her career with Makkal TV as a TV host. She dreamt to become a lecturer. She specialized in Literature and Media. After completing graduation she had a feeling that she had not work hard and so she decided to take a break before joining MA classes. Television happened in this break. However the actress does not want to compromise on her educational aspect.

She was working in Makkal TV, when she got a call. That’s how she landed into the series Office. The series proved to be her major breakthrough. Since then her fans prefer to call her as Lakshmi than her real name – Mathumila. Among the scenes she played, she feels it’s difficult to do crying scenes, as her face looks like smiling. This girl is known for her cute and pleasant smiles. She has also debut small screen in 2014. She has done supporting roles for the Tamil movies – Poojai, Romeo & Juliet and most recently Mappillai Singam. In 2014, she received ‘favourite Find’ award at Vijay Award Nights.
