Manu Ramesan Biography

Manu Ramesan is a music composer belonging to south Indian film industry. He is the son of well-known lyricist and poet of Malayalam, S. Ramesan Nair. He has composed songs for Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu movies till now. Ayal Njanalla (2015), Gulumal: The Escape (2009) and Plus Two (2010) are among his noted works in Malayalam. 2008 Tamil film Pidichirukku marked his debut as a music composer in Indian film industry. It was followed by his Telugu debut the following year, through the movie, Kavya's Diary.

 

Manu Ramesan belongs to a family of musicians and artists. He is the son of Malayalam’s popular poet S. Ramesan Nair, who has given some memorable contributions to Malayalam cinema as a lyricist since 1980s and penned lyrics for more than 450 songs for the Malayalam film industry. As a poet he is best known for works like Sooryahridayam. Manu Ramesan also followed the footsteps of his father, and pursued a career in music and film industry. He received his break into music industry through Tamil cinema, followed by Telugu, and then only his mother tongue, Malayalam.

 

As of now he composed music for three Tamil films – Pidichirukku (2008), Raattinam (2012) and Ettuthikkum Madhayaanai (2014). He worked for Telugu movie - Kavya's Diary in 2009. Gulumal: The Escape released the same year marked his Malayalam debut, and later he worked for Malayalam movies - Plus Two and Ayaal Njanalla. His film score, for the movie Ayaal Njanalla, became an instant hit. It also helped him to bag a few more film offers. Yet he is still to find a foot in film industry as a successful music scorer.
