Mallikarjun Biography 
Mallikarjun is a playback singer and music composer associated with south Indian cinema. He composes songs for Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. His wife Gopika Poornima is an established playback singer of south Indian cinema with two decades of experience and she sings in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. He is also a stage performer best known for his energetic moves. He is of Srisailam origin. Mallikarjun has done more than 200 shows across the world, and has also attended many musical concerts in the countries like United States of America, United Kingdom, Arab countries etc.
Mallikarjun’s full name is Boda Mallikharjuna Rao. He was born in 1976 in Andhra Pradesh. Srisailam is his hometown. He originally hails from Anakapalle of Visakhapatnam district. The family moved to Srisailam as a part of his father’s transferable job and they got settled there. Mallikarjun grew up here where he completed his studies. He was named after the local god Lord Mallikarjuna of Srisailam temple. He has one sister, and his mother is a housewife. He started learning music at the age of 9 and came to limelight for the first time after winning the singing competition, Padutha Teeyaga.
Mallikarjun made his debut as a playback singer along with Gopika Poornima in 1997. They sang the song Kalaganti Kalaganti for the movie, Singanna, composed by Vandemataram Srinivas. From there on he frequently worked with different music directors of the industry such as Mani Sharma, R. P. Patnaik, Harris Jayaraj, Devi Sri Prasad, S. Thaman, G. V. Prakash Kumar etc. Among all of them he frequently worked with Mani Sharma. He also married Gopika Poornima. Nela Ticket, Beeruva, Goravam etc are some of his recent works. He composed music for 2010 film, Kathi Kantha Rao.
