Lushin Dubey Biography

Lushin Dubey is an Indian stage actor and director who has experience in theatre over 2 decades. She has also appeared in movies - Partition (2007) and Murder Unveiled (2005), for which she won 2006 Gemini Award for Best Performance is a supporting role. She played Sonia's mother in Delhi Belly and Rati Chaturvedi in most recent release, Rangrez. Socha Na Tha and Amu are her other noted Bollywood appearances. She received Radha Krishna Award for her contribution to Delhi’s art & culture in 2009. She was also honoured with Karmaveer Puraskaar in the same year. Many of her shows have been scripted and directed by Arvind Gaur.

 

Lushin Dubey is the sister of noted film and theatre actress, Lillete Dubey. She was born in Pune to a Sindhi family. Bollywood actresses, Neha Dubey and Ira Dubey are her nieces. She is married to Pradeep Dubey, a Leading Professor of Economics at Stony Brook University and Adjunct Professor at Yale. She took Masters in History from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. After post-graduation in India, she took Masters in Science in Childhood and Special Education in the US. She has been involved in teaching mentally challenged kids.

 

Lushin's first solo play "Untitled" was scripted and directed by Arvind Gaur. This play has completed more than 200 shows and has been staged at many foreign countries as well. Her second Solo Bitter Chocolate too was scripted and directed by Arvind Gaur. Her third play, 'I Will Not Cry' was also scripted and directed by him. This play has been staged at many leading cities, as part of charity purposes too.
