Krsna (rapper) Biography

Krsna is an Indian rapper of Kashmiri descent and based in Delhi. His real name is Krishna Kaul. He is known by stage name KR$NA or KRSNA. Formerly he was known by the name, Prozpekt. Krsna is one among the early rappers of the country who earned fame and recognition in Indian Hip Hop genre of music. He made a cameo appearance in 2019 Bollywood film Gully Boy as himself, the movie dedicated to Indian rappers. He is active in the field of music since 2005 and has completed 15 long years in the industry. He released his debut album Sellout in 2014, which includes the popular song, "Last Night".

Krishna Kaul was born in Delhi on October 4, 1990. Both his parents are of Kashmiri descent. He spent his younger days in Delhi, where he completed his graduation. He attended Hansraj College. For post-graduation studies he moved to Mumbai. It was during his years at St. Xavier’s College he got into music profession. He returned to Delhi in 2005. By that time he has already made a name of himself in Indian hip-hop scene.

He was interested in hip hop music right from childhood, and he was exposed to it as well. Since 2006 he started to record and release songs on his MySpace page. Within three years, he earned a small fan base within the local circle of Delhi. His song "Kaisa Mera Desh" became an instant chartbuster in 2010, and there was no turning back after that. It became the first Indian hip hop song on YouTube and earning a #2 ranking, thus becoming one of the most watched videos of the season.
