Krishan Maheson Biography 
Krishan Maheson is a rap artist, based in Sri Lanka, also known by the name Krishan. Known for Tamil hip hop music, he closely worked with many Indian Tamil film production ventures, and has been featured as an artist in many Tamil films too. Krishnan, along with his brother, Gajan, and fellow MC Yauwanan has formed a group, which performed Tamil rap in Sri Lanka and other parts of the world. Krishan is also rumored to be working with prominent South Indian music directors. He is a winner of Asia Voice Independent Music Award. A name synonymous with the Sri Lankan music industry, he is responsible for introducing Tamil rap in the country. He was also a member of the ILL Noize hip hop crew with Iraj Weeraratne.
Krishan Maheson was born on 4 May 1983 in Sri Lanka. He along with his brother formed the musical band in the second half of 1990s. Named as Urban Sound, the band released “Smooth Flow” in 1998. The siblings were influenced by local hip hop artists then. However the brothers split in year 2000, and they started off their individual journey in the field of music. Krishan joined Iraj Weeraratne, under whom he tasted initial success by releasing many singles in the first half of 2000s. “Ninda Noyena Hadawe”, “Ran Ran Ran”, “Koththu song” and ”Mata Aloke Genadhewi” are among his popular tracks.
He released his first solo album, Asian Avenue in 2005 before he moved to UK. It was the first ever Sri Lankan album to be released by Universal Music India, and since then he got many musical assignments. Songs like "Tholaa", "Raja raja Sozhaa", "Kaadhal Kadidham" and "Ninaivugalae" were runaway hits in India. Avadhaaram was his second album which failed to receive favourable reviews from critics. But a couple of songs, most notably “Amudhame” became an instant hit winning many international awards. He has worked with music composers, Vijay Antony, D.Imman and Paul Jacob in Tamil film industry.
