Kishor Satya Biography

Kishor Satya is a well-known personality associated with Malayalam entertainment industry. He plays character roles in both Malayalam films and lead roles in television soaps. He has won many popular awards of Malayalam television for best actor category. He shot to fame playing the lead role of Dr. Balachandran in the most popular television series of recent times, Karutha Muthu. He was formerly married to noted actress of 1990s, Charmila.

Kishor Satya was born on 13 November 1974 in Mallappally of Pathanamthitta district. Sathyavan Panikar and Omana Amma are his parents. He married actress Charmila in 1995, during the peak time of her career. However the marriage didn’t last too long and the couple finally divorced in 1999. Currently he is married to Pooja and the couple has one child.

He started his professional career as an assistant director of Malayalam movies in the 1990s. Kanjirappally Kariachan in 1996 was his first film as an assistant director, soon after his first marriage with actress Charmila. When he married Charmila he was an unknown face in the entertainment industry. Later he played supporting roles in movies and television series as well. He was regular in cine world before he moved to small screen.

He played supporting roles in Mollywood films since mid-2000s – Thaskaraveeran, Rahasya Police, Keralotsavam, The Thriller, The City of God, Paisa Paisa etc are some of his noted roles. In 2004 he marked his television debut playing a supporting role in Kadamattathu Kathanar. Manthrakodi aired on Asianet marked his television debut as lead actor, where he portrayed the role of Aravind C Menon. His character was well received by Malayali television audience and slowly he shifted his work from big screen to small screen.

His role in Karuthamuthu earned him numerous awards including the most prestigious Asianet Television awards for best actor twice. The title role also earned him many nominations and made him a household name of Kerala. Vazhve Maayam, Kadamattathu Kathanar, Kathayile Rajakumari, Officer etc are other television roles.
