Kavya Ajit Biography 
Kavya Ajit is an Indian playback singer and Carnatic singer from Kerala. She has recorded film songs in all south Indian languages. She is trained in Carnatic Classical Music and Western classical style of Violin, and has performed in concerts and stage shows across the world. Her renditions for Malayalam movies in the recent times – Hey Jude, Vimanam, Jacobinte Swargarajyam, Jo & The Boy, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, 2 Countries etc are instant hits. She has also been associated with private albums and singles since 2014. Seeli Seeli Hawa, Uljhan of Izhaar, Yaaro Nee of Kungumam Vecha Kekudhu, Title track of Rhythm of Life and Thaye Thamizhe Vanangukerom of The Hindu Tamil Anthem are some of her noted singles for albums.
Kavya was born on 17 July 1991 in Kozhikode into a family of physicians as well as musicians. Both her parents are doctors. But she chose music as her career. Her father Ajit Bhaskar is a pulmonologist and Professor at Malabar Medical College. Her mother Dr. Lakshmi S is an Associate Professor in gynaecology at Calicut Medical College. Kavya received training in Carnatic music from her grandmather, who has been a radio artist. When the family shifted to Chennai, she continued music training under Geeta Devi Vasudevan and Madurai Rajaram. Kavya was initiated into Western Violin at an early age, and received training from Albert Vijayan Japheth.
After completing her engineering graduation in computer from Coimbatore, she worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Yet she quit the job to pursue a career in music. Now she is married and settled in Chennai. ‘Engum Nalla Pookkal’ song from Malayalam musical film - Rose Guitarinaal marked her singing debut in 2013; a duet aside Vineet Sreenivasan, and very soon offers came pouring in from all south Indian language movie films.
