Kanika Maheshwari is a popular television actress, best known for the Negative Role of Meenakshi in Diya Aur Baati Hum. The role bagged her Zee Gold Awards (2012 and 2013) and Star Parivaar Award (2012) for best negative role, apart from several nominations. Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai, Viraasat and Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi are a few more TV works. She is married to businessman Ankur Ghai. She is regarded as one of the hot celebrities of television industry. Most recently she participated in Nach Baliye 6. She was paired with Ankur Ghai and got eliminated on 11 January 2014.
Kanika Maheshwari was born on 24 April 1981 in Delhi. She shares her birthday with cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. ‘India calling’ was her first major break to mini screen. She played the role of Amy, protagonist Chandni’s sister, in ‘India Calling’. For Kanika, acting is passion, fun filled as well as profession of her choice. She believes in Buddhism and has done a three-year diploma in Vaastu Shastra. Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai in 2007 was her first daily soap.
She played the role of Rajkumari Bhoomi in Raja Ki Aayegi Barat on Star Plus. Lipstick, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Yahi Toh Hai Woh, India Calling, FIR and Saath Saath are some of her popular shows. Although she is a teetotaler, she has seen drinking and smoking on screen and she got popular through negative roles like ‘Piya Ka Ghar’ and ‘Reth. She was seen as the sexy Juhi in ‘Viraasat’.
