K. Deep Biography 
K. Deep is a Punjabi folk singer. He gained immense popularity by recording some of the popular Punjabi duets aside his wife, Jagmohan Kaur, who was also known as a Punjabi singer and actress. Their duets were instant hits in the 1970s and later. They performed together and recorded many duets as well. She met singer K. Deep in a musical show in Kolkata and they got married in 1971. The couple has two children. Jagmohan Kaur passed away in 1997 at the age of only 49.
Deep’s full name is Kuldeep Singh. He was born on 10 December 1940 in Rangoon, Burma (present-day Myanmar). Aitiana in Ludhiana district of Punjab (India) is his ancestral home. He recorded his first LP in 1969 by HMV. His first recorded song was Nashean Naal Yaari, Roli Main Izzat Sari. He met his wife Jagmohan Kaur in a music program in Kolkata, and later they started working together. Their duets were appreciated by music lovers. Love blossomed between the two and they got married on 2 February 1971. The couple had two children. Till the death of Jagmohan Kaur on 6 December 1997 in Ludhiana in her late 40s, they remained together, and were professionally associated for many Punjabi musicals.
Apart from normal folk songs, the duo also recorded comedy in records. They were the first Punjabi duo to do so. They played Mai Mohno and Posti, and also released Posti Canada Vich, Posti England Vich, Nave Puare Pai Gae etc. K. Deep was the first Indian singer to sing songs of Shiv Kumar Batalvi, which were later sung by many popular singers of today.
