Jyoti Hegde Biography 
Jyoti Hegde is an Indian musician and exponent of Rudra Veena from Sirsi, Karnataka. She is also a prominent Sitar player. She follows Khandarbani Gharana in tradition for her performances. She is world's first female vichitra veena player who found the instrument that spoke to her soul. She learnt rudra veena from the renowned artist Bindu Madhav Pathak, under whom she learnt this music instrument for long 15 years. She has released one musical album, Khandarbani Gharana in 2012. She is a Grade-A artist of Rudra Veena and Sitar with the All India Radio, who also delivers regular performances. Also she is a regular performer at various music events of India, and has also given performances abroad.
Jyoti Hegde was born and brought up in Sirsi, Karnataka. She is the first female performer of Rudra Veena in the world. She started learning the musical instruments at the age of 12. She was introduced to the rare music instrument rudra veena at the age of 16, and she just loved it. Pandit Late Bindu Madhav Pathak was her first guru who taught her rudra veena. She learnt 15 years under Bindu Madhav Pathak. She also learnt sitar simultaneously, and thus mastered both these string music instruments.
She later learnt under Pandit Indudhar Nirodhi for several years and she mastered Dhrupad style. She also took training from renowned Rudraveena master Ustad Asad Ali Khan. As a musician she is unique because she has mastered the two instruments which are totally different, and practised by only a few, especially among women. She loves experimentation and has organized Jugalbandi and Pancha Sitar programs for her students.
