John Dhanraj Biography

John Dhanraj is a popular TV host associated with Tamil TV channels. He is mostly associated with shows related to serious social issues rather than entertainment sector. He currently hosts Kalaignar TV's Nenju Porukkuthillaiye since 2014. The show discusses various social issues and problems. Earlier he has served as a TV host of DD Podhigai during the time period, 2010-2013 and hosted the show, Kaarasaram for which he received Edison Awards for best TV host. In the 1990s, he has hosted one show, Kavidhai kelungal (1992) for SUN TV. He is also a lyricist of Malayalam and Tamil movies.

John hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He completed his LLB studies from Government Law College, Chennai. He started his career as a TV anchor through the show, Kavidhai kelungal in1992 for SUN TV. Yet he came to prominence through the show, Kaarasaram he hosted for DD Podhigai. This social awareness program earned him appreciation and gained him popularity as well. He had a brief stint as a lyricist of Malayalam and Tamil cinema. He penned lyrics for Tamil film, Manadhil our maargazhi and Malayalam album - Lillies of March (Saral Thidukkam and Venpanithulli).

Currently he hosts the show, Nenju Porukkuthillaiye for Kalaignar TV network. Started in 2013, the successful show has completed 50 episodes. The show is widely appreciated by several politicians and social activists for providing relevant data after social research. The show has been widely welcomed by TV viewers as well. Till now the show has discussed socially relevant subjects such as Crime against women, School children's safety, Farmer’s suicide, Bank loan for education, Medical services, Electricity problem in Tamil Nadu, Safety in ATM centres and many more.
