John Brittas Biography

John Brittas is a popular journalist from Kerala and currently he is the managing director of Kairali TV, one of the popular television channels of Malayalam. He regularly appears on many television programs of Kairali TV and a household name for small screen viewers. He is one of the experienced and talented journalists from Kerala, and star anchor of Kairali television. He is to debut big screen with Malayalam movie, In the silver Light, where he plays the lead role. He is the former Business Head of Asianet Communications.

He was born in Kannur on 24 October 1966. After primary education from his hometown, he completed high school education at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Irinjalakuda, Thrissur. Then he attended S. S. College, Taliparambu in Kannur for intermediate (Pre-degree) and completed bachelor's degree in Political Science from Payyannur College, Payyannur. He also took a Master’s degree in the same subject from Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. He was the university topper for graduation as well as post-graduation. He took M. Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University and also completed PhD.

He started his career as a journalist for Deshabhimani newspaper Kannur. Then he worked as Delhi reporter before joining Kairali TV as an anchor. When Kairali TV was launched in 2000, he was only a seasoned media personality. Gradually he became one of the star anchors of the channel and worked with the channel for nearly 11 years. Then he got invitation from Asianet, leading Malayalam channel to join as CEO of Asianet Communications Limited in 2011. He returned back to Kairali TV in February 2013, where he took the role of Managing Director. Nammal Thammil is one of the leading and most successful shows of Malayalam television, hosted by this efficient journalist and anchor.
