Jassie Gift Biography 
Jassie Gift is a new path maker of Malayalam music industry. Through the single song, Lajjavathiye of the movie, 4 the people, he told the whole world that Malayalam film music is to undergo a change. Till then, only melodious voices were able to find a space in Playback singing in Malayalam. Through the songs of 4 the people – Lajjavathiye and Annakili, he proved that new voice can also set a new trend in Malayalam music. Apart from singing, he is also a successful music director of south Indian cinema. He works for all south Indian languages and sings for other music directors as well. Through the composition of melodious song, “Snehathumpi” and playback voice of “Azhakaarnoru manja” (Aswaroodan), he proved that he has the caliber to deliver slow tracks as well. Randaka song of Anyan (Tamil) was sung by Jassie Gift.
Jassie Gift was born into a middle class Christian family in Thiruvananthapuram. Music was his passion. He was highly influenced by western music and took lessons of piano and keyboard. He worked with local bands. Before entering films he composed songs for a couple of Malayalam music albums of which 'Soona Soona' was a hit. The trendsetter song of Malayalam cinema, Lajjavathiye was composed in 15 minutes. Actually many music bands didn’t accept his singing/composing caliber and he had a lot of suffering days during his struggling period.
He debut Malayalam as a music director with the movie Saphalyam. However, it was the music and the unique singing style for the movie, 4 the people, that gave him stardom. The songs played a significant role in making this low budget movie a huge blockbuster too. Later the movie was dubbed to Tamil and Kannada and he got singing opportunities from both these industries. Same year Rain Rain Come Again was released which became an instant hit. Though Jassie is known for fast tracks, he has composed melodious tunes for Aswaroodan, Ennitum, Pokkiri raja, Seniors and Balram vs. Tharadas. His Kannada movies include - Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga, Shyloo, Hudugaata, Myna, Dev Son of Mudde Gowda, Aryan and Kiladi Kitty.
