Harshdeep Kaur Biography 
Harshdeep Kaur is a playback singer of Bollywood movies who is most known for her Sufi songs. Yet she is equally verse in folk as well as Bollywood songs. Kaur is the first female to win two reality show titles - Junoon – Kuch Kar Dikhaane Ka on NDTV Imagine in September 2008 and MTV Video Gaga Contest in 2001. She entered Bollywood singing "Sajna Main Haari" of 2003 Anubhav Sinha movie – Aap ko pehle bhi kahi dekha hai and now she has become an established singer of Bollywood. Till now, her most popular song is Kathiya karoom of Rockstar, music given by A.R.Rehman for which she won IIFA awards and a Filmfare nomination, both. Her other top songs are Heer heer of Jab tak hai jaan, Alif Allah of Cocktail, Baari barsi of Band baja baarat and Jhak Maar Ke of Dezi boys. She has appeared in Coke Studio (India) during Season 1 & 2.
Harshdeep Kaur was born on 16 December 1986 in a Sikh family in Delhi. She inherited music from her father Savinder Singh, who owns a factory of musical instruments. She started learning music at the age of 6. She learnt Indian Classical Music from Mr. Tejpal Singh and Western Classical Music from George Pullinkala, Delhi Music Theatre. She joined the Delhi School of Music to learn piano at the age of 12. Winning MTV Video Gaga Contest in 2001 turned out to be the turning point of her career. It subsequently resulted in her joining in movies.
She debut in the year 2003 with the song ‘Sajna Main Haari’ and a few of her other hit Hindi songs include - Alag Alag and Ul Jalul of Oops, Chand Ki Katori of Guzarish, Sajde (Remix) of Khatta meeta, Kabira (Encore) of Yeh jawani hai diwani, Dil Ne Ye Na Jaana of Red: the dark side, Saajana of 1971, Leja Leja of Karam, s Pal Ki Soch of Halla bol, Lut Jaaon of Karzzzz, Woh Lamha Phir Se Jeena Hai of kajra re, Udne Do of Taxi 9211 and Ik onkar of Rang de basanti.
