Gopika Poornima Biography 
Gopika Poornima is a well-known south Indian playback singer, who sings for Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada movies. Her husband Mallikarjun is also a singer and composer in Telugu Film Industry. Her full name is Madhurapantula Gopika Purnima. She is active in music field since 1997. Gopika hails from Andhra Pradesh and she got initial recognition through singing reality show, Padutha Theeyaga, hosted by legendary singer Dr. S. P. Balasubrahmanyam.
She is also popular with her live shows and world tours in different countries. She got the Nandi Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the serial Priyanka (ETV) in the TV Section 2003, and also Maa Music Award for the Best Female Singer for Dhamarukam in 2013. Her popular song Lali Lali of the movie, Dhamarukam also gave her a nomination at Filmfare Awards South in 2013.
Gopika Poornima was born in Vizianagaram in 1982 and brought up in Hyderabad. Her father worked in government sector. She was initiated to the world of Carnatic music by her aunt, M Padma. Later she received advanced training in Carnatic music from Sudha Raghunathan, Lalitha Sivakumar, Prabhavathi and Binni Krishnakumar. She participated in the first edition of singing reality show Padutha Theeyaga, and won the contest, which proved to be a major turning point of her career. Gopika Poornima started receiving offers from film industry after that.
She also participated in Star Plus’ Meri Aawaz Suno and Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. To groom her career as a musician her father took voluntary retirement from government service, and shifted to Chennai so that she can pursue playback singing and take advanced learning in classical music. Singanna in 1997 marked her playback singing debut, and she has completed two decades in the industry.
