G. S. Pradeep Biography

G. S. Pradeep is a famous TV anchor associated with Malayalam television. He shot to fame after hosting the game show, Aswamedham (a reverse quiz show) on Kairali TV for many years. The show helped him to feature in the Limca Book of Records when it completed 500 episodes. Pradeep is also an author who has published 5 books. He is a state level carom player also. Pradeep was also a contestant of the controversial show, 'Malayalee House' (2013) aired in Surya TV, a Malayalam adaption of Bigg Boss on Colors TV. He has also appeared in one Malayalam movie, Varum Varunnu Vannu released in 2013. He has a deep knowledge of famous personalities across the world, and this remarkable knowledge made Aswamedham a great success.

G. S. Pradeep was born in Thiruvananthapuram on 15 May 1972. P. K. Gangadhara Pillai and Soudamini Thankachy are his parents. His father was a school teacher retired as head master. Pradeep is known for his comprehensive knowledge of history and contemporary world affairs as well as analytical skill. Pradeep was the best orator in Malayalam during his school days. He won the ‘Best Orator of Kerala’ award for six successive years (1987-1993). He studied at Government Arts College, University College, Thiruvananthapuram, and at the S. M. College. He has been associated with Malayalam Doordarshan Kendra since its inception. His first appearance on television was for the show, ‘Just a Minute,’ at the age of 14.

The idea to start a game show came as a spark in his mind while talking to a friend. This particular interactive game, he used to play with his friends since school days, and later he decided to do it as a television show. The show Aswamedham became one of the top game shows of early 2000s.
