G. Govindarajulu Naidu Biography 
G. Govindarajulu Naidu was an acclaimed and one of the most senior music directors of south Indian cinema since late 1930’s. Apart from Tamil, he has also composed music for many Kannada and Telugu movies. T. G. Lingappa, a famous music director of yesterdays was the second son G. Govindarajulu Naidu. Lingappa learnt music from his father. Apart from playback singers, he has worked with several singing actors of yesterdays. N. C. Vasanthakokilam, V. V. Sadagopan, K. Sarangkapani, N. S. Krishnan, T. A. Madhuram, J. P. Chandrababu and P. Bhanumathi are among those singing actors with whom he worked. As a music director, Sreekanta Leela was his debut movie.
Govindarajulu Naidu was a resident of Thiruchi, where he stayed with his sons. Renowned singer, M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar (MKT) used to sing in their house. Naidu introduced MKT to his children. He was the guru of noted singer, K. B. Sundarambal and a harmonium player in special dramas, where his son Lingappa used to assist him. He ran the unprofitable business of musical instruments and gramophone in Thiruchi. Later in the year 1940 the family moved to Chennai looking for better oppurtunities.
He debut music direction with ‘Sreekanta Leela’ and spent 3 long decades in the industry. Andhaman Kaidhi, Manithanum Mirugamum, Maya Manithan, Baghdad Thirudan and Raja Bakthi are noted for its beautiful songs, composed by Naidu. He got opportunity to work with talented singers like M. L. Vasanthakumari, A. M. Rajah, C. S. Jayaraman, R. Balasaraswathi Devi, P. Leela, Jikki, K. Jamuna Rani, P. Suseela, S. Janaki, T. V. Rathinam and T. M. Soundararajan. Kaani nilam vendum and Vaazhvin jeevan kaadhale from Andhaman Kaidhi, Manathil uruthi vendum and Kanna kanna vaaraai from Maya Manithan are among his memorable compositions.
