Dolly Sohi Biography

Dolly Sohi is a well-known television actress associated with Hindi screen, better known as TV’s eponymous Bhabhi through a couple of strong roles she played in the early phase of her career. She is best known for both lead and supporting roles on mini screen. She played lead roles in popular TV dramas such as Kalash (TV series) of Ekta Kapoor and Bhabhi (TV series). Neha Mehta initially played the lead role in Bhabhi and later the role was replaced by Dolly Sahi. She remained extremely popular in the early 2000s when soap era had just started to flourish in Indian television industry. She took a break from acting in 005 during her career back, and later returned after a hiatus in 2012 playing supporting roles.

Dolly Sohi hails from Amritsar, Punjab. She was born in 15 September 1975 as the daughter of Daljit Singh Sohi and Baljit Kaur. She got married to Avneet Dhanowa when she was a popular TV actress and settled with family wife. A daughter was born in this wed lock. She moved to Canada with her NRI husband soon after marriage and said good bye to the industry. She was one of the leading actresses then.

Later things didn’t go smooth and the couple are planning for a divorce. She returned back to screen after the news of her troubled marriage surfaced. Her husband was born and brought up in Canada. After marriage Dolly also settled there. Though she wanted to relocate to India, it’s not easy for Avneet to move back to India and start things once again. Though they don’t hate each other, they are in a dilemma.

She started her television career in 2001 with the show, Kalash in a lead role, followed by Kammal, Bhabhi, Kkusum etc. After marriage, she took a break from the industry. She returned back with 2012 show Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna. Hitler Didi, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi etc are some of her roles later.
