Divya Seth Biography

Divya Seth is a noted actress associated with Hindi entertainment industry. She has been a part of several stage plays, Bollywood movies and television serials. She acted along with her mother Sushma Seth, noted actress in the popular Doordarshan serial – Hum Log in 1984, India’s first television serial. She portrayed the role of Majli in the series. She has acted in many television serials. With the series Hum Log, which revolutionized Indian small screen completing 30 long years, Divya too has completed 3 decades in Indian television industry. She has also been the part of many Doordarshan soaps like Sparsh, Daraar, Adhikaar and Abhimaan, where she played the central roles. Her birthday is 2nd April. She is born to the veteran actress Sushma Seth.

Divya is one among King Khan’s best friends too in the late 1980s during his theatre days. They have associated together in Barry John’s theatre group at Delhi. Most recently he posted a selfie aside her in twitter and tweeted that it was Divya who taught him acting. They worked together in Lekh Tandon's 1988 TV serial Dil Darya. When Shah Rukh Khan moved to big screen, Divya continued with television. She is one of the early stars of Indian soap operas and was in the peak of her career in the late 1990s when she took a break.

After the series Sparsh in 1999, she took a break in acting. It was following her marriage and very soon she accepted motherhood. She has one daughter – Mihika. She returned back with new venture titled Sarkarr where she played the female protagonist. She was equally excited as a newcomer with this comeback show. She played the role of a widow, whose politician husband was assassinated.  She takes cares of the political endeavors after her husband’s death, that’s what the show is about.
