Divya M. Nair Biography

Divya M. Nair, best known as Divya is a TV actress, dubbing artist, former anchor and radio jockey belonging to Malayalam entertainment industry. She has already spent two decades in the industry, carrying different kinds of roles over the years, and she has also done brief roles in more than 30 Malayalam films till now. Yet as an actress she gained recognition through the Tv soaps, where she played supporting and character roles. Her role as Jayasudha in the TV soap, Streepadam aired on Mazhavil Manorama gave her a major break as a TV actress, and made her a household name among Malayali audiences. She has been a part of TV shows such as Eeswaran Saakshiyaayi, Eeran Nilav etc, before she bagged the meaty role in Streepadam.

Divya hails from Ernakulam, Kerala. Since childhood she spent most of her time in her hometown, Palluruthy and her education was also completed there. Her parents wanted her to take banking field, as her father was a banker. She also thought the same. However the destiny was something else, and she joined the colourful world of entertainment. Though she used to frequently participate in cultural events since school days, she rarely received accolades. Her entry to the world of television was so unexpected.

While studying in class 10, she got opportunity to anchor a TV show for a local TV channel. That was the beginning. From there on, she anchored shows for almost all Malayalam Tv channels. As an RJ she started a new career after marriage, and spent 6 long years in this field. Later she started ad dubbing, following films, and acting roles came that way. Initially she played bit roles on big screen, and she accepts roles those are comfortable only. She is married to a TV artist and has two kids.
