Dipika Kakar Biography

Dipika Kakar is a very popular television actress associated with Hindi entertainment industry. She is best known for playing the lead role of Simran in the popular television series, Sasural Simar Ka aired on Colors TV. She quit the show most recently in 2017. She is associated with television industry since 2010, and has been a part of several popular TV shows since then. In 2017 she participated in the dancing reality show, Nach Baliye 8 along with Shoaib Ibrahim. She managed to reach semifinals and finished third in the show. She also appeared in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi, in supporting roles, before Sasural Simar Ka happened.

Dipika hails from Pune, Maharashtra. She was born on 6 August 1987. She marked her television debut in 2010 with the mythological show, Neer Bhare Tere Naina Dev. She was seen in the role of goddess Laxmi in the show. Later she appeared in the show, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo playing the supporting role of Lali's sister Rekha. Yet she gained the real recognition after bagging the lead role for the show, Sasural Simar Ka. She shot to fame with this show, which was aired for the first time in 2011, and the show has nearly completed 2000 episodes in 2017, when Dipika quit.

Dipika is engaged to her co-star of her most popular show, Sasural Simar Ka. Shoaib Ibrahim played her husband in the show, and they got engaged. Shoaib quit the show in 2013 and Dipika fell for the actor after he left. Dipika is a divorcee and she was earlier married to a pilot Raunak Samson for three years. The couple got divorced in 2015. Though press blamed Shoaib as a homemaker, Dipika says they only started dating later. Apart from doing regular roles Dipika has appeared in guest roles in many popular shows. She has been a participant of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 and Nach Baliye 8.
