Dhruv Ghanekar Biography 
Dhruv Ghanekar is an Indian musician and composer based in Mumbai. He plays guitar and similar musical instruments. He has recorded and performed with some of the leading musicians across the globe, and also with Indian musicians like A. R. Rahman. He is the leader of "Dhruv Voyage", a musical band which performs in India and abroad. He has also remained a very successful composer of jingles and commercials, and as of now he has done more than 3500 commercials, with several award winning ones. He has also played music for films. He is the co-founder of Blue Frog - Lower Parel, a 360 c/o which encompasses a State of the Art Live Performance Venue, Recording Studios, Label and Music Production C/o.
Dhruv Ghanekar began studying Indian classical music from the age of nine. He learnt music under sarangi maestro Sultan Khan. While at school he got attracted to guitar and founded the rock band Chakraview. When he reached 16, he found himself naturally gravitating towards jazz and fusion. He collaborated with Ashutosh Phatak, a musician in the 1990s and went on to become music-makers for ad films and alternative movies. They delivered over 3,000 projects delivered to date. He released his first solo album "Distance" in 2008. His latest album Voyage is a culmination of his musical journey, which features award-winning international artistes like Raul Midon, Etienne Ma Bappe, Karim Ziad, Linley Marthe and Trilok Gurtu.
Dhruv Ghanekar is best known for fusion music. He also owns a studio, Wah Wah Music, in Khar. He often uses unusual instruments like a ukulele, a cigar box guitar, a tin oil can bouzouki etc for creating wonderful musical pieces. He now plans to release a three-track EP of his jazz-rock trio with drummer Gino Banks and jazz bassist Sheldon DaSilva. He is largely credited with revolutionising the live music scene in Mumbai city through Bluefrog.
